CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the body to support greater ease, awareness and change. You remain fully clothed and comfortably supported while I use light, attentive touch to different areas of the body, often around the head, spine, torso or feet.
Sometimes you may simply experience deep relaxation or a sense of settling. At other times, you may become aware of sensations, changes in breathing, emotions, memories or images. With SomatoEmotional Release (SER), we can gently explore what emerges through the body, bringing words and awareness to experiences that may not have been fully processed.
The work is collaborative and responsive. Rather than forcing or interpreting what your body is doing, we stay curious about what you are experiencing and allow the process to unfold at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
CranioSacral Therapy can be offered on its own or integrated with psychotherapy, allowing us to work with both physical and emotional aspects of your experience as they naturally emerge.

What Happens During a CranioSacral Therapy Session?
During a Craniosacral Therapy session, you remain fully clothed and comfortably supported on a treatment table. I use gentle, attentive touch while staying closely aware of your responses. The touch may be at different areas of the body, including the head, spine, torso or feet, depending on what feels appropriate in the session.
You may notice changes in your breathing, sensations, areas of tension, warmth, movement or stillness. Sometimes memories, emotions or imagery arise. At other times, there may be very little to say, while internally you are experiencing something quite profound.
We can talk throughout the session, or you may prefer to be quiet for periods of time. When something emerges, we take time to notice what you are experiencing and how your body is responding. With SomatoEmotional Release (SER), this may include gently exploring an emotion, memory, sensation or image while remaining connected to what is happening in your body.
The process is not about forcing a release or deciding in advance what something means. We allow the body and your experience to guide the work, with gentle touch, conversation and awareness working together.

SomatoEmotional Release (SER)
Sometimes, as we work with the body through gentle touch, an emotion, memory, image or physical sensation may begin to emerge. SomatoEmotional Release offers a way of staying with these experiences and exploring what they may be communicating, rather than moving away from them or trying to make them disappear.
The conversation becomes part of the bodywork. I may ask what you are noticing inside, what happens as you breathe into a particular area, or what changes as you stay with a sensation. Sometimes an image or memory may arise, and we can become curious about what it means to you and how you experience it in your body.
There may be moments of stillness, movement, emotion, or simply a sense that something is shifting beneath the surface. You don't need to understand what is happening or find the right words. We simply stay with your experience and allow it to unfold naturally.
As an experience is explored and integrated, the body may also begin to soften, unwind or release areas of tension. This can sometimes lead to changes in how the body feels and moves. The aim is not to force a release or assume that every physical symptom has an emotional cause. Rather, we listen to the body and your experience together, allowing space for awareness, expression and integration.

How CranioSacral and (SER) May Help
People seek CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release for many different reasons. Some are living with persistent tension, headaches, back or neck pain, pelvic discomfort, or a body that never seems to fully relax. Others notice that stress, trauma or overwhelming life experiences continue to affect them physically, even when they understand what has happened.
You may also be living with stress, overwhelm or trauma that seems to continue showing up physically. Sometimes you can understand what has happened in your life, yet notice that your body continues to respond through tension, pain, restricted movement or other physical sensations.
Through gentle touch, body awareness and therapeutic conversation, we explore how your physical and emotional experiences may be connected. As your experience becomes more integrated, many people notice greater ease, less tension, improved awareness of their body, and a stronger sense of connection with themselves.
I do not assume that every physical symptom has an emotional cause. Rather, we stay curious about what your body is communicating and listen to what may support greater ease, awareness and integration.
Is CranioSacral Therapy Right for Me?
Craniosacral Therapy may appeal to you if you are curious about working with your body as well as talking about your experiences. You may feel that something is being held physically, that talking alone hasn’t quite reached something, or that you would like to explore the relationship between your physical and emotional experience.
Because this is a hands-on approach, your comfort, choice and consent are central to the work. Before and throughout a session, I check in with you about touch where you are comfortable being touched, whether a particular position feels okay, and how the pressure feels for you. I might ask, “Is it okay if I place my hand here?” or “How does that feel?” You can always ask me to change, pause or stop.
You remain in control of what happens to your body throughout the session. You never need to tolerate touch in order for the Therapy to be helpful. You can ask me to adjust, pause or stop at any point, and we will always work within your comfort and consent.
If you are unsure whether Craniosacral Therapy or SomatoEmotional Release is right for you, we can talk about what you are looking for and decide together what feels appropriate.
